From prep to aftercare, here’s how to get the smoothest, longest-lasting results from every wax.

Waxing is one of the quickest and most trusted ways to remove unwanted hair, leaving your skin smooth for weeks at a time. Here’s everything you need to know to get the best results.

How Does Waxing Work?

Warm wax grips each hair and lifts it out from the root. Because hair is removed below the surface, it grows back much more slowly than after shaving, and most clients enjoy smooth skin for three to six weeks. With regular waxing, hair often grows back finer and softer.

The Right Wax for Every Area

At Shafaque’s Aesthetics, we use premium hard wax on delicate areas such as the full face, neck and underarms. It grips the hair rather than the skin, making it much gentler. For larger areas such as the arms, legs, chest, stomach and back, we use soft roll-on wax, which covers a wide area quickly. A gentle soft wax is used for brows.

Areas We Wax

Eyebrows, full face, neck, underarms, arms, legs, chest, stomach, back and full body.

How to Prepare

  • Let your hair grow to about 0.5 cm, the length of a grain of rice
  • Exfoliate gently a day or two before, but not on the day
  • Arrive with clean skin, free from lotion or oil
  • Avoid sun tanning before your appointment
  • Let us know if you use retinoids or acne treatments

Aftercare

Some redness is normal and settles within hours. For 24 hours, avoid hot baths, saunas, sun exposure and perfumed products on the area. Start exfoliating gently after two to three days to prevent ingrown hairs.

How Often Should I Wax?

Every four to six weeks works well for most people. Try not to shave between appointments, as this resets your hair growth cycle.
